Welcoming new AAUW members
For more than 100 years, AAUW members have worked to improve the lives of women and promote equity for all.
AAUW San José has an active Public Policy Committee (PPC) that works to advance AAUW mission – advancing gender equity through education & advocacy – within Santa Clara County as well as supporting AAUW’s state and national priorities in Sacramento and Washington D. C.
Often in collaboration with other local community organizations, the PPC leads:
- Voter registration and education events
- Teams to provide public comment at meetings of elected officials
- Interested members as they attend rallies, marches, and other non-violent direct actions
- Host and/or sponsor local conferences furthering causes aligned with our policy priorities
