For more than 100 years, AAUW members have worked to improve the lives of women and promote equity for all. 

AAUW San José has an active Public Policy Committee (PPC) that works to advance AAUW mission – advancing gender equity through education & advocacy – within Santa Clara County as well as supporting AAUW’s state and national priorities in Sacramento and Washington D. C. 

Often in collaboration with other local and state community organizations, the Public Policy Committee members:

• Engage with elected officials in support of AAUW priorities
• Support bias-free education at local school board meetings
• Increase voter participation via non-partisan postcard campaigns
• Host, sponsor, and participate in rallies, marches, conferences, and other non-violent direct actions
