Interest Groups

Expand your knowledge and make friends at AAUW San Jose’s Interest Groups. These groups meet socially for mutual interests and hobbies. Members choose topics and places to meet. See the BONFIRE Newsletter (posted at right) for times, format (Zoom, in-person, or hybrid) and the contact person. If you don’t see a group that appeals to you, you are also welcome to start a new one.

Weekend Walkers
Members meet for a one-hour walk on most Saturday and Sunday mornings. Once a month, members take turns planning an “off the trail” walk; that is, a walk somewhere other than the usual route on the Los Gatos Creek Trail. We’ve walked the Stairways of San Francisco and the Steps at San Jose’s Communication Hill, seen birds at Alviso and butterflies in Pacific Grove and followed a docent over unmarked trails in local Open Space Preserves.
