AAUW San Jose proudly supports hard-working women in completing a four-year degree —leading to wider career opportunities, future professional success, and greater economic stability.
- College costs have doubled over the past generation, while income has risen only 14%.
- Women graduate owing almost $22,000 in student debt, compared to $18,880 owed by men.
- Women take 2 years longer than men to repay student loans.
- Only 3.3% of nonprofit organizations focus on women and girls.
The scholarships are funded through grant writing, monetary donations, and an annual ‘Give the Gift of Education’ fundraising event.

In past years, donors’ generous donations have helped dozens of women complete their education. For our 2025 Holiday Campaign, we’ve set our goal higher than ever! Why? Because our world needs more strong educated women!
